Anna DubocANNA DUBOC

“Anna Duboc is as charming, soulful and engaging a performer onstage as she is a masterful vocalist / producer in the studio.” Jonathan Widran – THE MUSIC CONNECTION

With more than 60M streams and a rapidly expanding audience, 19-year-old Anna Duboc is defining herself not by trends but by a clear and evolving artistic voice. Anna has established herself as a dynamic, multi-faceted artist with a rare combination of vocal power, emotional intelligence and creative vision. With her latest single “Lily,” she steps into a more profound and defining phase of her artistry—one where poetic imagery, spiritual perspective and deeply human experience converge into work of striking intimacy and resonance.

Released on her label Gold Note Music (distributed by Sony/Orchard), “Lily” is a profoundly intimate and heartfelt piano-driven original timed to coincide with Sexual Assault Awareness Month, with proceeds benefiting RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network). But beyond its timely purpose, the song represents a pivotal artistic and personal breakthrough for Anna.

Originally sparked by a songwriting class assignment focused on metaphor, “Lily” evolved in an unexpected and deeply intuitive way. After initially experimenting with abstract imagery that felt disconnected, Anna returned to her natural instinct as a writer—creating poetry rooted in meaning and lived experience. Drawing inspiration from the biblical “lilies of the field” referenced in the Sermon on the Mount, she began shaping a narrative that connected the symbolic beauty and vulnerability of a flower with her own life.

“That assignment was to write with metaphor, and I remember thinking, ‘that’s how I already write,’” Anna says. “At first, I was just putting together pretty words that didn’t mean anything. Then I went back to my roots and started writing a poem about a lily. As I wrote, it became clear that it was about me—about something I had gone through. The gardener became someone I trusted who hurt me, and the song just unfolded from there into something deeply personal.”

That metaphor took on profound significance as the piece became a vehicle for processing and expressing a lived experience of betrayal and trauma. In Anna’s hands, the lily transforms from a symbol of divine care into something more complex and human—representing innocence, trust and the painful reality of those being disrupted. Yet rather than remaining in that space, the song ultimately evolves toward healing, resilience and renewal, offering a message that those who have been hurt are not alone and can emerge stronger.

This balance of vulnerability and strength is mirrored in the song’s musical approach. Built around Anna’s expressive piano work and a vocal performance that moves from quiet reflection to expressive intensity, “Lily” is intentionally restrained in its production. Subtle layers, including swelling synth strings, enhance the narrative arc without distracting from the lyrical core—allowing the story to remain front and center. It’s a deliberate creative choice that reflects her growing confidence not only as a songwriter, but as a producer who understands how to serve the underlying truth of a piece.

“Because the message is so important, I wanted to keep the production simple and let the lyrics really cut through,” she explains. “With songs like this, adding just a little bit—like the strings—can lift the emotion without taking away from the intimacy.”

The song also marks a moment of greater openness in Anna’s identity as an artist. While her faith has long influenced her worldview and creative instincts, “Lily” represents a more direct and unguarded expression of that dimension of her life. The lyrics’ dialogue with God reflects both questioning and connection, creating space for listeners of all perspectives to find their own meaning while also offering an authentic glimpse into her core beliefs.

“Lily” arrives as part of a new body of work Anna has been developing as she transitions from high school into the next chapter of her life. Many of these songs were written during an intensive period of study and creative exploration, resulting in material that reflects both creative and personal evolution and a sharpening of her artistic voice. With a new album on the horizon featuring collaborations with renowned musicians including drummer Gary Novak and bassist Rhonda Smith—artists she has developed a natural rapport with through previous work—Anna is expanding her sonic palette while maintaining the emotional core that defines her music.

This new chapter builds on a foundation that is already remarkably accomplished for an artist of her age. Anna first gained attention for her ability to merge technical vocal prowess with raw, visceral songwriting, a quality showcased in releases ranging from original compositions to inventive reinterpretations of classic material. Her reimagining of Kate Bush’s “Wuthering Heights,” along with a series of acoustic recordings featuring Novak, Smith and guitarist Toshi Yanagi, highlighted both her four-octave range and her interpretive depth.

Before dedicating herself to her indie pop artistry, she honed her craft in musical theater at the renowned Adderley Conservatory—the same institution that shaped stars like Jack Dylan Grazer and Golden Globe winner Ben Platt. Over the past few years, she starred as Velma Kelly in Chicago at the El Portal Theatre in Los Angeles, sharing the stage with Jack Dylan Grazer (Shazam, It), and played Hermes in Hadestown Teen edition at Center Stage Santa Barbara. In addition, she has led her own band in Los Angeles, headlining at various historic venues (including The Mint) to rave reviews.

Her performances have taken her from studio sessions to major stages, including appearances alongside artists such as Katy Perry, Kenny Loggins and Andrea Bocelli. With roots in musical theater—where she performed standout roles including Velma Kelly in Chicago and Hermes in Hadestown Teen Edition—Anna developed a commanding stage presence that continues to inform her live performances today. Whether fronting her own band at iconic Los Angeles venues like The Mint or connecting with global audiences through viral performance clips, she brings a sense of authenticity and genuine connection that resonates across platforms.

That connection is reflected in her rapidly growing audience. With millions of streams and a strong social media presence spanning TikTok, YouTube and Instagram, Anna has built a global fanbase drawn not only to her voice, but to the honesty and relatability of her work. Yet even as her reach expands, her core motivation remains rooted in something deeply meaningful.

“I hope when people hear ‘Lily,’ they realize they’re not alone,” she says. “And because they’re not alone, it’s okay to tell someone, to trust people with what you’ve been through. You can grow from it—you can become stronger, more whole.”

Growing up in a creative family—her mother Carol having written for artists including Patti LaBelle and Tom Jones—Anna was immersed in music from an early age, writing songs as a child and developing her voice across genres ranging from pop and indie to jazz and theatrical performance. Now, as she prepares to begin her college studies in music and songwriting, she finds herself entering a phase of greater clarity and self-definition.

With “Lily,” Anna not only delivers one of her most powerful songs to date—she defines the direction of where she is headed. It is the work of an artist willing to confront difficult truths, embrace complexity and transform her personal truths into something meaningful for others. In doing so, she continues to evolve not just as a performer, but as a storyteller whose music invites listeners to reflect, connect and ultimately find strength within their own experiences.
