  5. ECHO – EXCLUSIVE: Anna...

September 1, 2022
Amelia Cordischi

At only 16, multi-hyphenate Anna Duboc has had quite the impressive career between her popular YouTube videos and cross-genre performances with artists including Katy Perry, and Andrea Boccelli. Her new single “Running” is the latest mile marker on that career path.

The new track is motivational and adrenergic in its message and melody as Anna sings of escaping chaos and moving on to something better.

We recently chatted with Anna about the single, her new music, and more!

What inspired your new single “Running”?

While making the track, I was sitting in the studio and just felt like the vibe matched an emotional song disguised by an upbeat melody and track. I kind of just started writing and it turned into what it is now.

What was the writing and production process like?

Working with Matias on the production and track was super fun because it was an instant click, I wrote the words and melody mostly, while we collaborated on the track.

As a former member of MnR Dance Team and Adderley theater school, do you find yourself creating songs that you know would be great to choreograph to?

I used to dance at MnR and I think that I will create songs meant for choreography, but right now I’m mostly creating music for the song rather than for dance.

If you could set fans up in the perfect environment to listen to the single, what do you imagine it looking like?

Honestly you can listen to it anywhere, maybe getting on a train or driving somewhere far from home could be a great place for listening individually.

What can fans look forward to next?

More music coming soon, another video and I’ll also be performing at Sofar Sounds.

What is one quote you have heard or that you go by that you want to ECHO out to the world?

“It isn’t where you came from. It’s where you’re going that counts.”
